I didnt go for the not 3-0 sets option cause I thought if Mardy had won any of the first two sets he would started believing he could win that one but after watching the match I have the feeling Fish never believed he could defeat Rafa, he looked extremely tight throughout the whole match, and that made him tire sooner than I expected, plus he did not time smartly when to come in (I thought that was one of the keys as I said in the preview), he took a "kamikaze" approach and that was never going to work against Nadal, plus he made terrible volleys to concede the break in 3rd and 4th set etc. I dont think Rafa was playing at a high level and this one was a missed chance for Fish, we would probably have lost anyway but folding like that after he was broken for the first time was a shame for him.

Federer will win and Roddick vs Djokovic, it depends on how fit Nole is, if hes ok hes a clear favourite to win, although the match is going to be close and if he isnt he will have a very hard time to beat Roddick in a night match in AA. Typical game to trade for me, GL all

Edited by Jotabe - Yesterday at 16:17

Once in the SF, he will be tough to beat, specially when Djokovic doesnt look too fit and Roddick, well, he has an edge mentally over him thats clear.

On today:

Fish over Nadal @8.2 (Pinnacle) 1 unit

This might look a weird pick beforehand considering that 0-4 h2h Nadal has against Mardy but this is a different scenario imo. Nadal looks a bit spent mentally to me, his match against Querrey was bad, he grinded that one out exploiting Querreys bad returns, specially off the bh side and hammering him with that cc fh time after time as Sam lacks of a good answer to that kind of shot, but he served badly and made too many errors off his fh, which is always a bad sign in his game and hurts his confidence. This wont work against Mardy as bh is his better shot and hes a much better and way more agressive returner than Sam is. Plus this will be a night match in Arthur Ashe, Fish loved it when he faced Blake in 3rd round and he played an excellent match there. If he can repeat that performance (and I think its the most likely thing to happen), serving well, being agressive on the return and accurate in the execution, timing smartly when to come in and with the crowd all over behind him, another QF exit for Rafa in the USO is well on the cards tonight, Im convinced

Im searching for the smartest method to take Murray in some kind of props, as I think he will win, hes developing as a player and maturing at the right pace and he showed against Stan some glimpses of the incredible player we will become when being a finished product. If I find nothing interesting I will wait to take him in-running as its easy we can find evens for him soon enough, as bettors love that kind of runs JMDP is on and will surely push Andys price up way too much at the first break point he faces or break he conceeds. Its handball time in Germany and today two tradition teams face each other, its a supercup game, but still i find loads of value in these odds for VfL.

Frisch Auf Goppingen - VfL Gummersbach
For me its quite obvious who i will take here, its the guests which despite they lost their coach Gislasson (now Kiel) and one of most important players in the team Valur Sigurdsson, look impressive. New coach Hasanafendic (great tactician imo) have again great squad at his disposal, which is even more strenghtened with Drago Vukovic (playmaker), two French players Audray Tuzolana, national team goalie Yohann Ploquin and Austrian NT player Victor Szilagyi.
Overall i find Gummersbach team thats really complete on all playing positions, Fazerkas should keep his goalie position with a great backup. With Ilic, Zrnic, Alvanos, Klev who are always a threat, they are covered really well on all positions (especially outside line is great) and they should improve on last years performances.

Goppingen seems to have stagnated a bit, i cant rate them highly as previous years and imo their goalie positions looks little worrying.

Imo odds have excellent value, even more as the performances of VfL in preparation games offered good insight that they wont miss the departed Icelandic duo. I expect them to win todays oppening game as they did it also in the past. They won 11 of 12 last meetings and as i said it, sure its an opening round, but i see too much quality difference between these two teams, not to take VfL here.
Picks:
VfL dnb @ 1.99 @ 12bet 5/10
VfL -1 @ 2.25 bet365 2/10

both lost; 38-31
